Presentation by Wade Abnett, Director of Facilities & Security at the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art.
Monday, October 30th from 12pm - 1pm on TEAMS. Please click the link below to join or add to your calendar by clicking the calendar button above this event's title.
In this presentation you will learn about the destruction caused by Hurricane Ida to the Brandywine's Chadds Ford campus on September 1, 2021. You will hear first-hand experiences and view pictures of the aftermath and learn more about the Brandywine’s recovery efforts, FEMA ‘s involvement, and current restoration and future mitigation projects.
All of the art in the galleries at the Brandywine River Museum of Art were safe and unharmed by the storm, but the Museum’s lowest level—containing a lecture room, classroom, offices and mechanical equipment—had significant flood damage, in addition to 9 other office and mixed-use buildings on the Brandywine’s 15-acre campus.
